DO YOU HAVE DIRTY GROUT?
How to clean dirty, discoloured grout is something I am asked on an almost daily basis. Here are some tips on how to deal with this common problem with simple household items.
Good ol' baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Mix 3 parts peroxide with 1 part baking soda. Mix into a paste and apply to your grout lines. Leave for approx. 1 hour then wipe down. If you wish to leave it longer for really old stains, simply spray the area with water to keep the paste moist. Then wipe down after 1 hour. This mixture will not harm your tile or the sealant on your tile.
Have you ever wondered what to use when "a mild, ph balanced soap" is recommended for your floors? The best and least expensive, is simply dishsoap. Mixing a few capfuls of dishsoap in a bucket of water is great for cleaning your ceramics or marble. It is both mild and ph balanced. Vinegar is not recommended. Be sure to vacuum thoroughly before mopping.
Hope you find these hints helpful!
